Foster homes
We have decided to start working with Foster Homes (families), we want to keep the dogs in the house and be able to give them all the attention. The use of Foster Homes is the best way to do this, and we will remain a
a domestic breeder.
Below I will give an explanation of how this works.
At this moment we are looking for new host families for the coming year, if you think you are the perfect host family for us then feel free to mail us and take the plunge.
What does a Foster Home entail?
- The dog comes to live with you, you pay nothing for the purchase of the dog.
- All costs for food, training, normal vet costs and insurance are for your own account.
- All costs for the breeding are for my account ( breeder ) so the examination costs, and pictures of hips as well as the mating and delivery costs.
- The dog will be kept in the house as a family dog.
- If it concerns a male dog, you will have to lose the dog a few times for a few days for the mating. Count on about 10-15 times a year, sometimes even just a few hours.
- For a girl, she goes back to us maximum 2 weeks before the due date and you get her back when the pups are 7 weeks old.
- During the whole period we keep in touch so that you are also involved (if desired) in the whole process.
- It is also possible for the girl to stay with you and have the puppies in her own environment, of course I will always be there to help where necessary. It is important that there is always someone at home during the 8 weeks that the puppies are in the suckling period.
When can you qualify as a Foster Home?
- If you live within a 30 minutes drive from our home, the less the better.
- You will follow a course with the dog.
- Keep a good contact with us.
- It is especially important that we get along well with each other.
- It is also nice if there is some knowledge of dogs in the house, and people who already have a dog in the house or in the future may want a second dog in a host family that there is already a dog in the house or that you will buy a second dog in the future (maybe again as a host family).
Is it pitiful for the dog? No, because I make sure that the dog is with us without stress because I have already built up a relationship with both the dog and you, the caretakers.
If you are interested please contact me so we can meet beforehand and I can explain everything.
Believe me they are 1 big family and I am so happy and especially proud that they belong to the
Zaansedoodles.
